The year wrapped up with quarter two and students here experienced many fun traditions throughout these past few months.
A few holiday traditions included the surprise Christmas breakmovie. This begins by the upper school getting an email from Ms. Murray stating, “We need to have an important disciplinarymeeting in the back gym.” Students anxiously head there not knowing what to expect, to their surprise a holiday themed episode of Jessie played with hot cocoa and treats.
Another fun holiday tradition is SPSG’s annual Holiday Bazaar. This event takes place in the gymnasium and features outside and community vendors who sell clothes, accessories, plants, food, homemade crafts and many other items. This brings students together and provides community excitement for the holidays. A fan favorite from the holiday bazaar is the annual “$5 Taco in a bag” provided by the BAC crew.
Our community also featured many different end of semester art events, some being our musical “the Little Mermaid”, The joint upper school dance and choral concerts. The choral concert andthe annual lessons and carols took place in Old St. Paul’s church and featured a beautiful selection of music.
Another popular event is the “Sock Hop” this took place in January, where our Varsity SP basketball team took on St. Mary’s. The Cruises crushed them with the final score being 54-48. The game was then followed by an upper school dance with the theme being Neon. Students’ energies were radiating through the stands and at the dance.
Quarter two has finally wrapped up with the holidays and constant snow on the ground. Quarter three will hopefully bring just as much excitement and maybe some warmer weather!
