Dear Readers,
Hello! Natalie and Erin, the Editors in Chief of The Page and the Epistle, the St. Paul’s joint upper school student newspaper, are thrilled to welcome you to our first issue of the 2023-2024 season. This is our fourth and final year with the paper, and we’re determined to make it our best yet. As book fanatics and writing nerds, Erin and I are eager to continue promoting the writing of our peers at St. Paul’s. It is crucial to us that students have an accessible outlet to share their voices, as well as be able to provide commentary on our school community.
This year, with the help of our faculty mentor Mr. Binau (SP), we have added levels of structure to the club, allowing a handful of other students to gain editing and advising experience. Our new Assistant Editors are James L. (SP ’24), Anousha J. (SPSG ’25), Taylor V. (SPSG ’25), and Grace Y. (SPSG ’25). These hardworking individuals allow us to perform extra rounds of editing, thus strengthening final published pieces. Additionally, we have added Peer Reviewers – Jack L. (SP ’24) and Torben H. (SP ’26) – who provide additional support to less experienced members and pave the way for a core team of writers to gracefully step up next year.
We hope you can find time this year to read our monthly issues. Our incredible staff has been collaborating to ensure the Page and the Epistle’s writing is nuanced and interesting to our audience. As always, we welcome feedback; please reach out to us with any questions you may have.
We look forward to a great year of writing. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Natalie Kim (SPSG ‘24) and Erin Verch (SPSG ’24)
