Thursday, 9/19
Middle School
MS XC left Gerstell's campus with a BIG WIN over Gerstell, Glenelg, and McDonogh.
Harrison Pestikas (8th grade) came in 4th overall and 1st for SP with a time of 13:48 on their 2-mile course. Proudly, our top five scorers placed top 10 in the race which included 5th grader Charlie Martin 14:23, 6th grader Jackson Zader 15:54, 8th grader Teddy Gooder 15:54, and 8th grader Max Galarza 15:55.
Everyone ran a fantastic race. A few other highlights were 5th grader Gus Constable 16:31, 8th grader Jason Kokorus 16:41, and 5th grader J.W. Jennings 16:48.
9/21 Varsity
SP XC ran at the famous Bull Run Hereford course this past Saturday. Over 100 teams raced throughout the day.
SP competed in the small school category but without, their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best runners.
SP still held their own, with a great run by Thomas Millis, running a 17:28 and finishing in 7th place overall out of 200+ runners!!!
Tommy Woelper finished in 2nd place for SP, followed by James Gooder.
Luke Buettner took 5th place on our Varsity in a time of 21:14, which is 7 minutes faster than his previous best on this course!!!!!!!
9/24 JV/Varsity
SP XC traveled to McD Tuesday for their 3rd League Meet.
Our JV had their best race of the season! JV won 17 to 42.
Four guys ran their fastest race ever (PR): James Gaslevic 24:39, Jaser Genz 21:27, Carter Holland 20:57, and Patrick Walker 21:40
In the Varsity race, Thomas Millis, Ashton Seeman, and Tommy Woelper finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, leading us to a 22 to 33 win! James Gooder hit his best time ever with a 19:37.
The Varsity is now 3 – 2 in the “A” conference with a huge race next week against Loyola and Calvert Hall.

Curley- 27
SP traveled to East Baltimore for their first MIAA contest of the year. Curley started fast taking a 21-0 lead into the half. The boys played hard and settled in eventually falling 27-0.
The next game is on Friday, 9/27 at 4pm on Tullai Field vs Mt. Carmel.

The boys hosted Archbishop Curley on Monday to kick off their MIAA slate. Noah Washington led the way offensively for the Crusaders with two touchdown passes; one to fellow freshman Bryson Clark and one to sophomore JP Patchett. The defense stiffened up and contributed two points with a safety as well.

Loyola- 4
Blue soccer lost a hard-fought game Friday 4-1 at Loyola. The boys battled the entire game cutting the deficit to 2-1 minutes into the second half with a great goal by CJ Sandstrom off a corner kick from Noa Mulla. The boys dominated much of the play in the second half but ultimately gave up two more goals with less than 10 minutes to play while pressing numbers forward trying to earn an equalizer.
Wednesday, 9/25 JV Soccer

St. John’s- 0
The JV travelled to Frederick to take on C conference team, St. John’s Catholic Prep. The conditions were extremely wet, but the team played well and took care of business.
–Blake Wells had a hat trick
–Nile Ross had a goal and 2 assists
–Finn Dowd scored on a penalty kick
–Cole Atkinson, Trevor Hook, and Connor Cook had a goal apiece
–Augie Criswell dominated possession and chipped in 2 assists
–LJ Meltzer has an assist and the last goal of the game came from Gaia Adaci assisted by Josh Ogunbaho. Gaia was mobbed by his teammates in celebration. It was truly a team win.
Thursday, 9/26 MS Gold

Glenelg Country School- 2
Despite the weather including the rain, a fallen tree and a swarm of bees, the gold soccer team pulled off a solid 6-2 win over Glenelg on the road yesterday afternoon. The boys said they felt better playing together today and that was evident from the sidelines as well. They passed into space, hustled to the ball first, switched the field of play often, and worked hard to create overlapping opportunities. Sixth grader, Bo O'Neil, had 2 assists and 1 goal; 7th grader Jabari Arrington scored 2 goals; 7th graders Kai Edwards and Nathan Snyder had one goal apiece and 8th grade captain, Tommy Zink also scored one. They couldn't have played as well offensively without their solid defensive team and their goalies. It was a true team effort, and we look forward to next week against Gerstell.

The Crusaders lost a tight one at home vs archrival Boys’ Latin. All five sets were extremely competitive and we unable to win the decisive fifth set, unfortunately.

The JV Crusaders competed valiantly, ultimately falling 1-2 to Boys’ Latin. We currently sit towards the middle of the pack in the JV standings with a 4-5 MIAA record.
